The shipbuilding industry consists of specialised shipyards and supply chains. Companies specialise in complex workships and special vessels for hydraulic engineering, offshore and inland navigation.

Leading firms

They supply new ships, but are also active in the development of smart maintenance concepts. Leading companies are Damen Shipyards, Holland Shipyards, Neptune, Den Breejen, Royal IHC, Concordia, Bakker Sliedrecht, Pon Power, Breko, De Waal, Kooiman Marine Group and Mercon. This cluster is mainly located in the eastern side of the Drecht Cities, Gorinchem and Werkendam.
